Plan of the Month

The Olde Heritage Manor

The Olde Heritage Manor is a two-story master up with lots of curb appeal. The mix of materials and colors gives it that old world charm. The porch has boxed columns over stone pedestals. Several of the windows have diamond pattern mullions. There is plenty of detail to appeal to even the most particular buyer.

The floor plan is very open and emphasizes the livability of the plan. The kitchen is open to the grand room as well as the breakfast and vaulted keeping rooms. It has a unique curved island that is designed to have stools placed up to it. There is a computer nook near the kitchen for use as a house work station. A see-through fireplace between the grand room and the vaulted keeping room is a special feature.

On the second floor there are four bedrooms. The master is on the rear of the plan to allow for maximum privacy. Two bedrooms share a bath and the fourth bedroom has its own private bath. The master bath is very open and has separate vanities as well as his and her closets. A computer nook over the foyer is perfect for the kids to complete their homework.

It's Time to Innovate at Any Cost

Surveys show that most Americans believe now is a good time to buy, and that homeownership remains an important part of their family dream. Yet they don't pull the trigger. Why?

A laundry list of economic problems provide plausible explanations--prices may fall, mortgage rates may decline, job prospects are uncertain. But some builders manage to overcome these concerns and outperform the market. How do they do it? They provide homes that are so innovative that buyers absolutely must have them.

It's almost reached the point where it makes sense to innovate no matter what. Every buyer may not appreciate a contemporary exterior, or be willing to pay for a net-zero home, but those who do want these things typically can't find them on the resale market or from other builders. There's an opportunity to obtain 100% of the business of a small group of buyers.
